Caring for
God’s Littlest Ones |
The
nursery ministry never stops
growing!!! You can’t
peek into the Nursery without
smiling. Of course, because
everyone loves a baby. The
nursery staff finds every
baby irresistible. This very
important ministry cares
for infants to 24 months.
After 24 months the little
bunches of joy advance to
the ARK program. Located
in room 205 in the main hallway,
the nursery is available
during all scheduled services
and Sunday school.
The
Nursery Committee oversees
safety, scheduling, maintenance,
and improvement. of the
Nursery and input is always
welcome. We consider this
ministry vital to church
outreach, to visitors,
and church growth.
The
nursery is not just a safe
place for parents to drop
off their babies while
they study the Bible and
worship. As children come
repeatedly to the church
nursery during these formative
months and years, they
learn that this is a safe
and friendly place to be.
This is a place where the
toys are fun and the rocking
chair is always waiting.
Here they learn about love
outside the home. For them “going
to church” means
the nursery, and “Jesus’ love” is
expressed in the hugs and
smiles of the nursery workers.
Throughout
their time in the nursery,
children are played with,
sang to, read to and loved.
Each morning during Sunday
School, Joyce Schmid comes
in and sings action songs
with the children and reads
them a Bible story.
It
takes a team of dedicated
people to run a successful
ministry such as the nursery,
and we currently have a
team of 79 volunteers doing
so! Although this seems
like a lot of people, we
do still have a few “holes” in
the schedule that need
filled. We encourage parents
of nursery-aged children
to prayerfully consider
being a part of this vital
ministry. |

 |
The

both worship services Sunday

|
Who
does the nursery serve?
In
general, the nursery is available
to children ages newborn up
to 2 years. If your child has
a special need, and would benefit
from the nursery for an extended
time, exceptions can be made.
Please talk this matter over
with Jeremy Bosshammer. |

|
| Who
cares for the children? |
 |
All
persons serving in the
nursery are aged high school
through adult. All workers
are required to pass a
background check before
serving. During all times
the nursery is available,
there is at least 1 adult
serving, and no more than
2 students are scheduled
at the same time. |
|
| How
do children grow spiritually? |
| Young
children need to develop
a sense of trust, and know
they are important to caregivers.
Children need a consistent
assurance of God’s
love. This comes from those
that take care of them! Telling
them how special God made
them is important. |
