influenced me, such as preachers,

was a deacon for several years and have
been an elder for the past 16.

North Terrace in addition to serving
as an Elder/Deacon? At
this time I only oversee the softball
team.

family: My wife, Dawn, and
I have been married for 20 years. We have
three children: Zach-16 (driver's permit,
yikes!), Jericha-9 (going on 16), & Michaela-4
(routinely declares who she will marry,
so keep your boys away from her).
Who led you to or
influenced you most for the Lord? Starting
to meet with my men's accountability group
was probably my turning point from casual
Christian to committed Christian. I took
a trip to Promise Keepers that also really
challenged me to get serious (mad props
to Jason & Rob for that).
What is your leadership experience
at North Terrace? Deacon for
six years; Elder for one year; Board
Chair for one year; Vice-chairman this
year; Assistant Chef to Dick Brown
for seven years.
How are you involved
at North Terrace in addition to serving
as an Elder/Deacon? I teach Sunday
School, serve in the worship ministry (tech/video
support, worship coordinator, gopher),
participate in a men's accountability group,
and lead a small group. (I can't say enough
about the personal blessing of investing
the time, perseverance, and energy into
building a group of people with whom you
can "do life together".)

gives me strength.

is no way that I can choose just one
favorite, but here is a sampling: The

of the Lost Ark, Much Ado about Nothing,
Dead Poets Society (carpe diem), and Butch
Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

food? Everything, as long
as it doesn't have sour cream or mayo on
it.

eatery? I have never met
a restaurant that I didn't like, but special
mention goes to Chipotle, Maria Adornetto's,
Jack Baker's Lobster Shanty, Donato's,
and the 2 for $2 coney dogs at Mr. Banjo's.
One of the most memorable meals ever was
with my small group at Harpoon Hanna's
in Bethany Beach.

sport, sport team, or board game? Geek
alert...Chess is my favorite game with
Risk coming in at a close second. For pure
unadulterated fun, however, you can't beat
a game of Pass the Pigs. (Yes, it is a
real game.)
Hobbies or interests? Reading,
movies, church effectiveness, teams, scenario
planning, camping, travel, leadership, personal
and spiritual development.

a greeter at both services and am in charge
of greeters for 2nd service. I also

at Summerville each Sunday. I also enjoy
singing in the choir.

Susie, my wife. I came from a non-Christian family.

served as a deacon and am presently an elder.

do whatever I am asked to do.

retired from Zanesville Mould after 37 years
of service.
Tell us about your
family: My wife,
Sherry, and I have been married for 52 years
and have three grown children and four grandchildren.
Who led you to or influenced
you most for the Lord? Many people were important
in my life. Shortly after I started reading
the Bible, a neighbor invited me to church.
(Never underestimate the value of
inviting someone to church!) A minister took me under his wing, baptized
me, and then got me started working in the church. I
started attending over 50 years ago and have
been active in the church ever since.
What is your leadership
experience at North Terrace: I
am presently an elder. My leadership
over the years has changed as times (and
I) have changed. I do a lot of calling
and have been a teacher, a deacon, and the
chairman of the elders. I consider
it a privilege to serve however, wherever
and whenever I can.
How are you involved
at North Terrace in addition to serving as
an Elder/Deacon? I
am involved at North Terrace with Sunday
School and Joy Ministries. Over
the years I have been on many committees, including the search committee that
called Bill Meaige to be our senior minister. At times I play the drums
for Sunday services or bring our group to play for Joy Ministries. I
lead the communion thought when ask to do
so.
What is your favorite
Bible verse? I
don't have a favorite bible verse but I enjoy
studying the New Testament, as I believe
it is the direction for living.
Do you have a favorite
TV show or movie? No, but I enjoy watching sports. Due
to physical limitations I do not attend as many games as I use to, but I still
enjoy going to a game now and then with my son or some of the young fellows at
church.
What is your favorite
food? Pasta.
Do you have a favorite
eatery? I enjoy home cooking and eating out.
What is your favorite
sport, sport team, or board game? I enjoy playing
chess. My favorite sport is football.
I played semi pro ball years ago and coached
the Maysville Jr. High football for many
years.
Hobbies or interests? I have played the drums for many years and with many
groups. I still play with a group at nursing homes, etc. I
enjoy reading articles written by fine Christian
writers. I use to love to jog. I can't do
that since my accident, but I still work
out at the Field House.
Do you have hidden
talent(s)? I don't know, but if I do they'd better make themselves
known soon!
Over the years I have grown under the guidance
of many ministers and Christian friends who
have cared for me spiritually and when I
have needed them physically. I consider my
Christian family among my greatest blessings.
If I have any regrets it would be that I
didn't have the opportunity to attend a Christian
college and to become a minister. The
Lord has looked after me well over the years.
I have been in two accidents where a friend
was killed.
I try to live one day at a time, and
I thank God for each of them.

started coming to North Terrace and then
I starting coming shrotly thereafter. When
I got here, I met several people who influenced
me such as Jim Bryan Sr, Jim Bryan Jr,
Dick Brown, Bob Wiley, Terry Ohlinger,
Bill Meaige and George Baesel.
