Small Groups
(or Life Groups as they will be called from this point
forward) are vital to the health of a large and growing
congregation. It is easy to get lost in a church
the size of ours. The larger North Terrace becomes
the more intentional we must become to minister to the
specific needs of our church family. Your physical,
emotional, and spiritual needs will be more likely met
if you take the initiative to connect with a Life Group.
What is a Life Group? A Life Group is a small group
of individuals and/or families that meet regularly in homes
or here at the church to build relationships with one another,
to encourage one another spiritually, and to simply “do
life” together. Life Groups are “safety
nets” that we would like to have in place for each
and every North Terrace family member so that they can
be “caught” and cared for in the event of a
crisis in their life. The majority of the care that
has been extended to Dale and Kim at this difficult time
in their lives has come directly from the people in their
Life Group. This is the way that it should be as
this is the biblical model that is given to us with the
New Testament.
Acts:2:42-47 provides a snapshot of community in the early
church. It is a great passage, describing people
spending time together - praying, eating, worshipping,
talking. We will be incredibly blessed if we take
the principles that the early church operated with and
put them to use in our community of faith. People
need an authentic and intimate community in which to grow
and that is what we want to facilitate and nurture for
our North Terrace family.
North
Terrace makes available small groups for individuals and
families who would like yet another opportunity to grow
spiritually and in their relationships with other members
of the church family. Most small groups meet twice a month
and each group is an unique as the individuals who attend
them.
If you are interested in getting involved in a small group,
contact Danny Harp, Associate Minister, and he will be
glad to have one of our small group leaders extend a personal
invitation to you to attend their next meeting. |
