How long has the preschool been in business? |

| North Terrace Christian Preschool
was established in the fall of 1996. |

Is the preschool licensed? |

| North Terrace Christian Preschool
is licensed through the Ohio Department
of Job and Family Services. The preschool
is owened and operated
as a ministry of the North Terrace
Church of Christ. |

| 3.
What are your hours? |
 |
| North Terrace Christian Preschool
operates from September to May (specific
schedule is available upon request).
Our class times are 8:30 a.m. - 11:30
a.m. You may choose from either Monday/Wednesday/Friday
or Tuesday/Thursday. We also have five-day
care available. Our schedule is constructed
like the area schools and we observe
the following holidays: Veteran's Day,
Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Year's
Break, Martin Luther King Day, President's
Day, and Spring Break. |

What is the registration policy? |
 |
| Applications
will be taken on a first come, first
serve basis until enrollment capacity
is reached. Any remaining applications
will be placed on a waiting list. These
applicants will be notified
if an opening occurs. All registration
forms, roster forms, health releases,
and emergency forms must be completed
before your child may begin his/her
first day of class. Applications
will not be considered final until
the $30.00 Application Fee and completed
Application Form is received in the
Preschool Office. The $30.00 registration
fee will hold your child's position
in the class of your choice until August
1st. On August 1st a $50.00 tuition
DEPOSIT is due. The $50.00 tuition
deposit will be applied to your May
tuition and is refundable with a two-week
written notice. |

What is the staff-child ratio in each group? |
 |
| One teacher per
eight 2 1/2 year olds, one teacher
per twelve 3 year
olds, and one teacher per fourteen
4 and 5 year olds. |

How are the children placed? |
 |
| Children that are entering the 3
and 4 year old classes are to be2 1/2
years of age by September 1st. Those
entering into the Pre-Kindergarten
classes are to be 4 years of age by
August 1st. All students must be potty
training prior to the first day of
classes. |

What will my child be doing on any given
day? |
 |
| Each class has the following activities:
Learning Centers, Chapel, Letter of
the Week, Circle Time, Story Time,
Snacks, Dramatic Play, Art, Gross Motor
Skills and many other special acitvities. |

What is your discipline policy? |
 |
This discipline policy applies
to all employees of the center as
to the specifications of Rule 5101:2-12-22
of the Department of Job and Family
Services. Discipline is necessary
in the classroom to maintain a structured
learning atmosphere. The discipline
policy of North Terrace Christian
Preschool is as follows:
1. Redirection:
The child will be offered an alternative
choice.
2. Removal
from the situation: The child will
be moved to an alternate activity.
3. Separation
from group: The child will be placed
in a time-out chair.
4. Removal
from classroom to the office. Staff
member prepares an incident report
to
be
sent home.
5. Parent
meeting with teacher and Administrator
to develop a plan of action.
All discipline is done in love. The
lines of communication will be kept
open between the staff, the child,
and his/her parents. At no time will
a child ever be physically hit, spanked,
hurt of belittled. |

| 10.
What is your release/security policy? |
 |
| The center will issue two identification
cards to each family enrolled in our
center. During pick-up, parents are
asked to present their identification
card to the staff. Arrangements for
pick-up by someone other than the normal
person must be arranged in advance.
All
visitors and/or volunteers are required
to stop by the office and sign-in to
receive a badge to be worn at all times. |

Do you encourage visits from parents? |
 |
| Yes. Many times during the school
year we ask for parent volunteers for
both classroom parties and field trips.
North Terrace Christian Preschool has
an open door policy and parents are
welcomed at all times into their child's
classroom. |
