Honor |
| Since
God designed us to fellowship with Him,
everything we do at North Terrace is
motivated by a desire for a lifestyle
of individual and corporate worship. The
first part of a lifestyle of worship is
prayer. We are advised in 1 Thessalonians
5:17 to “pray without ceasing.” The
second part is praising God through song,
what we say and how we live. It
is through our attitude and actions that
we fulfill our need to worship God. |

Reach |
Evangelism is
the first element of the Great Commission.
We are commanded to tell others about
Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through
what we say but even more in how we live.
As a church, to fulfill this value we
focus on our outreach activities in addition
to our Sunday morning services. Examples
of these activities are Christmas Dinner
Theater, the Community Free Stuff Give-away,
sports camps, pre-school, music lessons
and participation in community events. It
is also accomplished through our Missions
Team. North Terrace sets aside
14% of our giving to make sure we help
reach all people and nations. |

Serve
|
| It
is through service that
we demonstrate the Great Commandments
to love God and to love each other. Serving
in a ministry is how we place others
first and make sure the work of God’s
kingdom is accomplished. |
|
| Grow |
| The
second element of the Great Commission
is discipleship. Accepting
Christ is a necessary first step. However,
living for Christ requires the love and
support of the entire church. From this
value, flow nearly all other activities.
Priorities within discipleship are
small groups, Christian education, leadership
development and shepherding the flock. This
is represented in our mission by focusing
on each member’s “lifelong relationship
with Jesus Christ. |

| Connect |
Fellowship also
lets us demonstrate our love for one another
in Christ. Fellowship is
more than fun activities like church picnics,
outings and potluck dinners. As Christians
at North Terrace, we strive to “do
life together.” We support one another
as part of a family of believers. We serve
and worship together, as a way to fulfill
God’s plan. Fellowship is
characterized by charity, learning, commitment,
grateful hearts and spending time with
one another.
In Acts 2, we read about fellowship in
the early church:
"They
devoted themselves to the apostles'
teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and
to prayer. Everyone was
filled with awe, and many wonders
and miraculous signs were done
by the apostles. All
the believers were together
and had everything in common. Selling
their possessions and goods,
they gave to anyone as he had
need. Every day they
continued to meet together
in the temple courts. They
broke bread in their homes
and ate together with glad
and sincere hearts, praising
God and enjoying the favor
of all the people. And the
Lord added to their number
daily those who were being
saved.
