Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor is a ministry that will bring awareness and a source of help to those within our church family who are dealing with the unique circumstances that come with having a child or teenager with special needs. The two ministries listed below are each designed to share God's love to these families. Please prayerfully consider being a part of this ministry. We are looking for people to serve as “Barnabas Buddies” for children/teens with special needs. These volunteers will be matched with a child/teen (once a week for one hour), making themselves available to attend a weekly church program (Sunday
School, ARK, SHAPE, Wed. OR Sunday night) with their “buddy” to primarily (more than anything) offer a source of encouragement
and friendship. This ministry also offers parents an opportunity to attend a weekly program, knowing that their child/teen is in good hands with someone who can give him/her undivided attention.

We are looking for people to plan and to implement activities for FAMILIES of children and teens with special needs. We are not looking for anything fancy but simple activities that can be planned for these families so that they can come together and share the joys and struggles of living with someone with special
needs with one another. These utings/activities would offer the opportunity for families to join together with no fear of judgement or lack of understanding from those with whom they are
meeting.
