About his Family . . .

I grew up on Caldwell, Ohio… just southeast of Zanesville in Noble County.  My parents and grandparents still live in Caldwell.  My parents are and have been actively involved in church so I grew up in church.  In 2000, he met his wife Jackie and they were married in 2003.  We currently have no children… but we do have two cats: Zoe and Zelda. My sister is married to a youth minister who serves Worthington Christian Church near Columbus.

Where did we find him . . .

Batavia, IL working with students at Fox Valley Christian Church and looking to move closer to family.

What he did before he was here . . .
  • Served First Christian Church in Meadville, PA as youth minister from 2000 – 2005.
  • Served Fox Valley Christian Church in Batavia, IL as student minister from 2005 – 2010.
What he brings to the role that you wouldn't expect . . .
  • A keen knowledge of Spider-Man comics.
  • An addiction to anything Apple computer related.
Where he learned his stuff . . .

Milligan College (Johnson City, TN) and Lincoln Christian University (Lincoln, IL).

What he Loves . . .
  • A hot date with my wife.
  • A quiet morning reading
  • Sseeing a student give their life to Christ
  • A good, long run
  • An iced cold Americano from Starbucks
  • A Cubs win at Wrigley Field.
What is his Pet Peeves . . .

People that assume that just because youth are young that they aren’t important to the church’s present.  They are the church, not just the future of the church.

What inspires him . . .
  • Reading books.
  • Hanging out and talking with other youth pastors.
  • Attending youth ministry conferences.
  • Classes at Lincoln Christian University.
What are His secret ambitions . . .
  • To throw out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field.
  • To skydive.
  • To run both the Boston Marathon and the Chicago Marathon
How does he keep up with current trends . . .
  • Hanging out with students
  • Spending time on Facebook.
  • Reading.
  • Being on school campuses for events.

What are his goals for the future . . .

Working with middle and high school students until he retires.

If he wasn't a youth minister . . .
He’d be a meteorologist.  He loves weather, watching the Weather Channel and keeping up with current weather trends.
What are his hobbies . . .
  • Running 5ks, 10ks and half-marathons.
  • Reading everything he can get his hands on including school-work for his MDiv at Lincoln Christian University.
  • Blogging and tweeting.
  • Playing Xbox 360 video games. 
  • Watching Cubs games
The place he is most likely to be when divine inspiration hits . . .
