Five ways to describe her . . .
  • Loving wife and mother, and soon to be grandmother!
  • Organized
  • Dedicated
  • Loyal
  • Compassionate
What other people are saying about her . . .
  • She loves her family
  • Strives to be biblically sound in her faith
  • Always willing to lend a helping hand
  • Hardworking and dedicated
  • One of the nicest people they know
About her family . . .

She has been married to her husband, Tim, for 24 years. She has two children who are now both married and about to have children of their own! Her oldest son Brad and his wife Adriane, will make her a grandmother sometime around August 6th and her youngest son Michael his wife Morgan, will follow soon after with her second grandchild sometime around September 25th.

What she loves. . .
  • Ice . . . strange but true . . . and the best ice in town is at Sam's Club.
  • Spending time with her growing family.
  • Traveling with friends.
  • A good chick flick complete with movie popcorn and a soda.
  • Singing and playing the piano.
What are her pet peeves . . .
  • People who use rumors and gossip as a reason to judge others.
  • Having to answer a lot of questions first thing in the morning.
  • Automated answering systems that many businesses use today . . . where are all the people!
What are her dreams . . .
  • To use every talent that God has given her to its fullest potential.
  • She would love to go back to school and get her master's degree or even better, just be a lifelong student.
  • She has always dreamed of working full-time in the computer industry or teaching, and the best of both worlds would be to teach computers.
  • To own a 2006 or 2007 Ford Mustang and a Canon 40D Digital Camera . . . which she could use to take lots of pictures of her car!
What inspires her . . .
  • Watching other people succeed gives her the courage to try new things herself.
  • Seeing people live out their faith as they walk through the struggles of everyday living.
  • People who are sold out to God . . . not just in what they say, but most importantly in what they do.
Other places her talents have taken her . . .
  • Her diligence and perserverance helped her graduate Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University in June 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Business Communication.
  • During her brief stint in the U.S. Army, she was selected as the First Armored Division Soldier of the Year. Because she was the first female who had ever achieved the honor, she had to go through the process twice!
Where she learned her stuff . . .

She has always loved computers and has learned most everything she knows about them by simply using them . . . a lot, talking with other people and reading. Finally finishing her bachelor's degree helped to give her some credentials for the knowledge she has gained through years of experience.

In a previous life . . .

Prior to working on the church website, she was the church secretary and treasurer for North Terrace several years ago, a supervisor at a printing company, a secretary in a nuclear medicine clinic, a computer trainer for nursing home administrators, a membership coordinator at a fitness facility, and an active duty soldier serving as a leadership instructor at one of the U.S. Army's primary leadership development schools. Currently, in addition to being the webmaster for North Terrace, she is also the office manager for TS/architect, the architectural firm owned by Todd Slaboden.

What is her specialty . . .

She has always considered herself a jack of all trades and master of none, often knowing just enough about something to get herself into trouble.

How has this job grown her skills . . .

The demands of the church's website have given her the opportunity to learn new skills as they are needed to add new features to the site.

What she does for North Terrace . . .

She designed, built and maintains the church's website.

The best thing about about working at North Terrace . . .

Having the opportunity to use some of the talents that God has given her to benefit the church and it's members.

What are her hobbies . . .
  • Computers
  • Bowling and golfing . . . neither of which she's even begun to figure out!
  • Reading
  • Taking pictures
  • Quilting, crocheting, and sewing.
  • Piano
Her secret ambition . . .

To be a photographer.

How she came to North Terrace . . .

Until the age of 12, she attended a baptist church with her family. After that time, her and her mother began attending her mother's home church, First Christian Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Sherry and her family ended up in Zanesville at the invitation of Uncle Sam. Her husband served 22 years in the U.S. Army and the reserve unit in McConnelsville was his last active duty station. They loved the area so much that when he retired from the military, they stayed in Zanesville.
