FOSTERING HOPE
Our Fostering Hope Ministry exists to support local foster, adoptive and kinship families. This Ministry assists families in a variety of ways, including meeting physical, emotional and spiritual needs. If you would like to support this ministry, or are a family who could benefit from this ministry, please reach out to Stephanie Hill at stephanie@ntcoc.org
Furniture Bank - We maintain a local storage unit with gently used or new furniture available to Muskingum County Children’s Services and other partner agencies. Most needed items are beds and dressers, but other furniture is accepted if we have space for it. Volunteer roles available include Furniture Bank Coordinator and Pick Up/Delivery driver.
Home Care Kits - Laundry baskets filled with cleaning supplies and other basic home care items are prepared by our Home Care Kit Coordinator and available in our Furniture Bank for families in need. Items accepted as donations include laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, and all household cleaning items.
Community Care - Provide physical, emotional and spiritual support to our foster, adoptive and kinship families. Volunteer roles available:
Community Care Coordinator: Organize support for families by coordinating volunteers (Care Community Members) to provide practical aid such as meals, care packages, and emotional and spiritual support. The leader connects with organizations, manages volunteer teams and helps equip families with resources and guidance, fostering a supportive environment rooted in biblical principles.
Community Care Member: Assigned to a family to build a relationship with them and the children in their care by providing regular, practical support. Tasks will look different depending on the needs of the family, but examples of ways to help include providing a meal once per month, running errands or helping with transportation.
Shopper: Shop for items such as diapers, formula or clothing, or other items needed by foster and kinship families or a partner organization.
Respite Nights - Twice per year we host a Respite Night, where foster and kinship parents and enjoy a few hours to themselves while their kids have fun in a safe environment. Events typically held in April and November or early December each year.
