Join us this year for our Christmas series, Discovering Christmas. From November 30 through December 28, we will look through the eyes of Mary, Joseph, the Shepherds, the Angels, and the Wisemen to discover how Christ’s birth brought Faith, Love, Hope, Peace, and Joy to Earth.

Christmas Season Devotionals on Peace

The Christmas season is one of celebration, generosity, joy, and hope, but it’s also one of extreme busyness. Even the parts many of us love, like exchanging gifts and visiting family, can become major sources of anxiety and stress amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays. And what about those of us who are mourning our first Christmas without a loved one, or who are estranged from our families altogether? This time of year, we each run the risk of robbing ourselves of immense joy and peace in Christ, in favor of entering survival mode until it’s all over. If we’re not careful, the celebration of Jesus’ birth becomes something we “just have to get through,” rather than something we cherish.

What if we took a moment this year, actually 5 moments, to take a deep breath and embrace the peace God has for us? How would that affect the way we interact with our loved ones? How would it change the way we start 2026? I believe if we’re willing to slow down long enough to listen for God, we’ll learn what Jesus meant in Matthew 11:30 when He said: “For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Each of these devotional moments will take 3-5 minutes, and they’ll include a reading, an experience, and optional discussion questions if you’d like to use them with your group or family. They're going to be simple, because this isn’t about learning a Bible fact that changes everything, it’s about spending time with our Father, who loves us, and would love nothing more than to offer us the peace of His presence.

The only question is whether we’re willing to slow down enough to accept it. Let’s begin.
